Default Need A Top of The Range PC Monitor

Hi,

I would like a monitor to go with my sytem. Am buying a quad core, an 8800GTX 768mb and everything top range.

I would like a monitor 22"wide. I know the model and make I want which is the Samsung 226BW. The drawback of this monitor is that it has 3 different panels and that the one I want is the 'S' panel which reffers to Samsung and is the original ones, whilst the other two are just cheap but are original samsung monitors but are sold the same price of the 'S' panel. The other two are the 'A' and 'C' panels and the 'A' panel has a blueish colour and the 'C' panel has brightness difficulty. Also, when a monitor is said to be 'S' panel on the outside, inside it might be not until one enters into a secret menu and founds out .

So I would like some advice on this monitor and any suggestions one could give me since I do not know what to do and that I would like a 22" wide monitor with very very good quality picture.

Hope somoone here could help me.

Firstly, good choice on the tft. It's one i've recommended on here a number of times.

From what you've put it won't make any difference if you manage to find an 'S' because it might not be an 'S' until you get it set up and check.

My response would be to contact Samsung Directly with your concerns because any etailer is going to tell you anything to get the sale.

Yep, tnx 'alex'. Just went to the local Samsung supplier and when I told him about my issue, he told that he is going to give me the monitor to try it for a whole day a see it and try it for myself. If I would not like it I would bring it back and if the contrary I would obviously buy it.

Also, another thing about the monitors. I just found out that Samsung had released their Pebel series and there is this model 2232BW which also is 22"wide and has almost the same specs as the 226BW but a bit better and is also cheaper. Do you suggest me to buy the latest model?

Newer doesn't necessarily mean better. Not having any personal experience of the new 'pebble' monitor I'd be reading reviews first to see what the consensus is. And then comparing those reviews to ones on the 226.

Also (obviously) compare tech specs as well.

As it's cheaper, if that matters to you, I'd take that into account as well.

I am not looking for cheaper products but high-end ones. As regards the monitor, I only want to buy Samsung and no other brand. You may say why?

So, here in Malta we do not get much of any kind of any product and now-a-days they are importing cheap stuff and brands that are not known almost. To find something high-end you have to search a lot and sometimes the supplier would have to order it especially for you. In my case that already happened with regards to the case (no one has it in stock), the keyboard and mouse (since it is expensive they do not supply it unless on demand), etc... That is why I would rather go for the pebble because since it is the latest model, (I presume) that it would be available.

Therefore Malta is very behind other countries with regards to product choice. Here when a famous brand comes out with a new product it reaches Malta (if it comes here) approximately 2months after when that brand would just have released a better one. Hence we are kind of discriminated here.

All in all it is not the price that I am looking for but quality that is why I would rather go for the newest model.

I don't ask why, I happen to agree with you regarding Samsung. I've the 244T and a 930BF. Both Samsung, both superb.
