I've just purchased an NVidia 8800GTX graphics card... don't ask why, I really couldn't say.
I have had PSU issues before, one dumped about 300 volts across the motherboard and melted the lot, and another simply ceased to function after my previous upgrade. my specs are as follows.
550W PSU
3 hard-drives, 1 IDE at 153Gb, 2 SATA at 372 Gb and 465Gb.
WAN adapter
2 DVD drives, 1 IDE and one SATA
AMD X2 5200+

OS is Windows XP Service pack 2. Yes, I know. I could just never get the hang of Linux.

Am I likely to need a new power supply for the connections to the gfx card?
Any other points someone would like to draw my attention to?

PS I'm trying to play UT3, but I'm getting a generic 'UT3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' error message. Can anyone help?

PPS Like hell do they care that my gaming experience has been interrupted! I am deeply irritated by their false outpourings of pseudo-care and regret!
Rant over. It's late, I'm tired. That's my excuse.

as long as you have enough spare 4 pin molex connectors you should be ale to connect it up as there will be conversion adapters supplied.

it has 2 power connectors, a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector. your psu should come with the 6 pin and your gtx should come with a conversion adapter which will use 2 4 pin molexes for the 8 pin connector.
