Default New OS, new drivers, but bad benchmark! How to fix?

I just got a dell inspiron 1520 notebook with pentium core duo 2.0ghz processor, nvidia 8600 GT 256megs, and 2 gigs of ram.

However, I just ran a benchmark test from http://freestone-group.com/video-car...ility-test.htm and got TERRIBLE results!

According to this test, my system is running at 94 while the nvidia geforce 6600 gt is running at 880, sapphire radeon 9600 atlantis is 265.

What's going on? I installed the video card driver that came with my notebook. I have directx 10. I'm running on Vista.

Is this normal for a machine with my specs or is something wrong?

Wow that is low, could be something to do with the program not having proper support for Vista
EDIT: Yep it sure is

Actually there's a free version of 3dmark06 out that i'm downloading. http://www.futuremark.com/download/3dmark06/ It supports vista, but it requires "Intel® or AMD® compatible processor 2.5GHz or higher."

I have an intel core 2 duo 2.0 ghz. It will satisfy this requirement, right?

Yep it will run fine, well on some of the test it will be running at a frame a second but it will still work, don't worry about that though cos even high end PC's have trouble running some of the tests in it:)

Edit: Downloading 06 now:)

Oops, forgot to resume download, will have to wait another hour
What kind of bench do you get with the 6600?
I think I remember me getting around 7-8000 with my build(check profile)
So you should be getting around or better than me!
