Default No Display On Startup

Hi everyone - nice forum!

I have a problem I wonder if you can help me with. I'm currently building a computer up, and I thought I'd completed everything, so when I started up for the first time, I was disappointed when nothing happened on the monitor.

I've got an Innovision GeForce 8800GTS 320MB gfx card on an Asus P5b deluze motherboard. I've ensured I've got power going from the PSU to the gfx card (and when I turn the PC, the fan starts whirring) and I've ensured my monitor is plugged in. When I don't attach the DVI cable from the monitor to the gfx card, the monitor displays a "NO Signal" message, but as soon as i plug it into the gfx card, the monitor goes into standby mode.

Any thoughts as to what is going wrong?

Hello GillsMan

Welcome to TCF

Does the monitor have an orange light on the front when in Standby?
Have you booted up while in standby?
Have you tried an ordinary svga cable?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've just fixed it though...the P2 cable (ATX exit cable) to my motherboard had come a little loose!! Secured it, and it works now. Thanks anyway dude! :D
