Default No Input Signal Message

I have a HP Pavilion a1730n. Recently, while downloading a file my computer froze and I had to turn off the power supply. When I restarted it, I get a "No Input Signal Detected" message. I have removed the video card (Nvidia 8600 GT), but don't know how to access the onboard video. I've plugged in the VGA cable to the correct port, but i still get the same message. I'm assuming that onboard video is disabled so how do I enable it without going through the BIOS?

Good point! Do you have another monitor cable to try? These things are easily damaged!

You may not even have onboard video. Regardless, there's no way to do so (you MIGHT be able to do it by resetting the CMOS button/jumper, but that's not guaranteed). Reseat the graphics card, check your cable.

So far I've tested the monitor on another computer and it works fine. I even tested the adapter. I know for a fact that there is onboard video and reseating the card doesn't help. However it the card moves a bit when I move the adapter around. I will test the video card on another computer in the afternoon or so.

Yeah, also try clearing your CMOS.
