Wow, cheesepuff, I want that monitor. However I want my wife and the privilege of living in my house with her and my daughter rather than being booted out in the street more, so I reckon I'll keep what I have now.....

You must have a nice allowance lol.

OK, so im not the average user. Maybe i am seeing the situation a little different than i should. But i still think 4850 is better price/performance than 4870.

PS: i don't get allowance, but i do work hard for my money. since im a kid, i dont have to worry about paying bills (well, not most anyway) or the morgadge and stuff. and i cant drive yet so no car (but i DO have an electric Bike so i can get jobs close by) so being my age has some benifits. but regardless i work long and hard, and it takes a while to get my money.

What do you do to get your money? I am being neither rude nor accusatory, I am merely seeking information. If you are TRUTHFUL on the age (15) that shows up on your posts, it is natural for one to wonder where you get the cash to buy a $1,000 monitor like most kids your age would buy a candy bar. If you are some cybercop seeking pedophiles I would suggest you troll elsewhere, but barring that let me say.............

Personally my young brother, I am way past impressed with your computer knowledge. I hope my (now) 6 year old daughter will be as mature, polite, and informed as you are when she is your age, you have read others of your age group and must understand what I'm talking about. (I just recently looked over to the right and saw you were 15.) I am trying to instill in my daughter the same hard working values as you espouse, but hopefully you will understand my (and server guys') initial doubt. I hope you are saving lol but given your apparent propensity for earning cash maybe you don't have to worry about that. But then again, it's always a good habit to get into. Just damn, now I sound like the old fart that I am. Oh well.

Anyways, please, if you will, tell me how you earn this kind of money. I am seeking information, (I try to be a journalist), not doubting your word. My life is a quest of seeking information...........

EDIT: Truth being stranger than fiction, I love to hear the story behind the story as it were. I really am interested in how you earn (and save) that kind of cash. At your age all I was interested in was getting laid. I was unsuccessful lol and would have been better off saving my money and buying a PS1 with the cash I spent on little bimbo's trying to impress them. Seems like you have it figured out better than I did.......... good job.

about 4 years ago i got into selling stuff on ebay. I learned a selling tactic called Drop shipping. This is where you list something on ebay, get paid by your buyer, then use the money to buy the thing you sold on ebay for a lower price than what your buyers paid you, and tell them to ship it to your buyer. You get to keep the diffference. Its very simple really. Kids these days grow up with electronics, and thus tend to learn more about them faster than older folk.

That is step 1 of how i get my money.

the next part is simple: sell my old PC parts to my other Computer building friends, so i can help get the money for my new parts. Knowing when to sell and when to buy is important. which is why i normally selling my entires comptuer, part by part just about every year, before the value of the parts become too low to even bother selling.

Every now and then i get a side job (mowing lawns, shovalling drive ways, and (my favorite) building computers for other people, or even fixing other peoples computers)

Getting money isnt hard as long as you know how to do it.

yes, i am 15 years old, i love computers, and currently i plan on going into the game creating industry. Its my passion and i love the fact i can one day make it my job =D

yup. out of all the years of ebay selling, i only had 1 unhappy customer ( THANKS ALOT USPS shipping....) item got lost during the shipment. When i was that young, the ebay account belonged to my dad, so i would just list the stuff and transfer money and such. now that im 15, i just use my own account.

Impressive. My hat is off to you and your parents (for teaching and encouraging you). Sounds to me like youneed to go to Georgia Tech for college. They have a great computer department and a very nice respectable Business school, (unusual to have both) and it would seem that a double major in computers and business would fit you to a T.

Tell your parents they seem to have done a great job with you.

well, its parent now. (divorce) But i have had a better life than most i would say. I saw a commercial for Collins Collage in Arizona. they specialize in game development. Since I know i want to make games (great ideas in my head- all my friends love the story lines and ideas i have for the games i wana create) So i have my mind set. I'm taking programming/CAD/computer classes to help me learn what i need to know. Plus i get extra credit if i fix a broken computer at school (good for me, and cheaper than calling in I.T. specialist) Yes, i can say without a doubt i have great perents.
