nvidea 8800 ultra

i have seen one of these made by xfx going for 330 (new) and was wondering is their cooling superior to the gtx (i heard it gets rather hot).

I would expect their cooling would be fine, it it wasn't they'd have a lot of returns and XFX are a big company that know what they are doing.

i think i am certain i am getting the ultra and the evga 780i sli mobo then .... i like to exhaust all possibilities before i buy to ensure i dont buy something then regret it

the only thing stoping me finishing the build is stock! the evga 780i wont be in stock till feb

that sucs try to buy it somewhere else or get a really cheap 32mb card untill it comes bak in stock

grrr i just read 3 user reviews that claimed that many of the xfx cards died with in a week and that the drivers were terrible so now my brain is all negative about the xfx brand
so now im on the hunt for an evga or similar reputable brand ultra card for about 350
that is unless someone here has an xfx ultra and can sway me

As far as I know all 8800s use the same drivers, there is only one download from nVidia.com.

goood, are all the cards identical minus stikers from different companies?

i think i have decided on this ... its a tad more expensive than the ocuk version but has a cooler logo that would match my motherboard

Your going to pay other £50 more because of the Logo?
