If it works fine in games (so, being stressed) what makes you think it's going to 'die' ?

the video RAM test says the memory on it is going bad. I did a stability test on XP but they whole computer screwed up on the last 2 min real badly.

Couldn't tell that from the image, it didn't come out very clear.

3dmark06 or

this

or ATI tool or

this

You need to see if the card can run at peak (this last link loops Crysis) for extended periods of time.

i have done both 3dmark06 and ati tool. the picture is just fine in quality. click to view full image then click on the picture itself to get its real full image. it says the problem is not the GPU but the memory on the card is going bad. will these things in the other 2 links diagnose for memory instead of the GPU?

Just a quick question CP.

As it's a 8800GT it's relatively new, as in a few weeks old max.

So why not just return it as faulty instead of all this messing about?

I get the distinct impression that even if everything is stressed and shows up fine you're still going to have it in the back of your mind.

So why create hassle for yourself?
