this is a card which has confused me alot........
with its ddr5 will it be able to give more fps and have better performance than the gts 250

GDDR5 is the latest DDR version for Graphics cards, the equivalent, say, of DDR3 for motherboards.

It doesn't directly affect FPS, although broadly speaking, the later the DDR version, the better - although other factors can frequently be much more important.

On the other point, yes I think the 4850 is better than the 250, just going on what I remember from Carbon's Computer Part's Guide #4 - Which may be worth a read before you buy (Just the GPU section)
