You can then watch High Definition DVD's on your computer.

Even with an HD drive you are only ACTUALLY SEEING SOMETHING THAT IS HIGH DEFINITION if you HDMI/DVI-D it out and HDMI it in to the TV.

Also if you are editing camera pictures or film taken with a HD camera/camcorder.

i know but you sayed gfx cardas dont carry sound thru hdmi so whats the point of having hdmi port on a gfx

because HDMI cables are much more common than a DVI-HDMI cable, so it just makes it easier to connect to a TV (basicly just an advertising gimic)

Well you would still need the separate Audio Cable, even is you use the HDMI cable

i know i use seperate cables for audio/video but im saying is there a way to just use the hdmi cable

Yea, and my last post posted that quite clearly. Unless there is some box you can buy that has an HD input (either by HDMI or DVI) and an Audio input, converts it, and outputs it to just HDMI, no there isn't a way, and even if there was such a product, it would cost a ridiculous amount, meaning it would be better to just have 2 sets of cables.
