I have used this mobo on a recent build for a friend and the HDMI out definitely carries Sound as well as Audio, as will most new Graphics Cards that offer an HDMI Output.

Could you give an example of a GFX card that carries both? I can understand it on a motherboard but I'm sure I haven't seen any GFX cards which carry audio.

Another one here
It has to be said though that these Cards are normally used in Home Theatre PC's (HTPC). so you need to remember that HTPCs are not about 3D performance. They major on being quiet, energy efficient and on the ability to connect to TVs and plasmas and may not have the required oomph for playing high end games.. |

I stand corrected!
I suppose in a theatre PC, as you say, it is more about just playing a movie or TV in HD and getting reasonable sound, wheras on a gaming PC you want to get a card which concentrates on the video and then have a seperate one for sound. Tom |

Yea, I stand corrected too, I'm surprised, maybe it's just I've only rearly looked at the high end gaming cards, so that sort of card didn't pop up.

the first link you gave phil was not hdmi it was dual link dvi, also yeah i want it for high end gaming and i dont think not many support hdmi

High end gaming, better off getting an HDMI GFX card and a deidicated sound card.
