It specifically says "HDMI with 5.1 surround sound audio" ....... where are you reading that it hasn't ?

I believe you can find a suitable high end card too, but you will have to check the specs carefully.

The 9800 GX2 has an HDMI port, but I couldn't see anything in the description about it taking audio too.
