Default Problem with dual monitors

Monitors don't need drivers.

It is all setup using your graphics card software.

Do you have Nvidia or ATi?

Default Problem with dual monitors

Hi again folks,

I'll pigyback on this topic if thats ok.
Win XP I've added an external keyboard, usb plug n play to my laptop and both keyboards are live and no problems.

I'm thinking of adding 1 external monitor, and I have an external monitor port, similar to this one posted above

3 rows like the top image, and I presume this is a vga port.
I know nothing about graphic cards, but am I right in thinking that if I get a monitor with a vga port that matches my laptop I can just plug n play (after setting it up in Display in CP) and all will be well.

Basically what I'm trying to do is to have two screens, one at a standing height and one at sitting height, but I'm not sure how the two keyboards will interact with a 2nd monitor.

Sorry if I'm not explaining this too well and thanks in advance.

It depends on how the laptop's graphics controller handles dual monitors. You can't "split" the keyboards, they will have the same operation on all screens.
