Hi, I'm currently looking to upgrade my graphics card but I'm totally lost These are my current specs : AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 1 GIG [Upgrading to 4gig] And graphics card is an 8400 GS. Now I'm totally lost when it comes to graphics cards so here it is. I'm looking for an affordable upgrade for $100 or less. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a site that compares GFX cards by showing how much FPS per game, but finding no luck. Thanks in advance

Try going here, and selecting one of the benchmarks at a time, then there is a chart with all the latest GFX cards on. However I would probably say this card is your best bet at that budget, just ensure you have a good enough PSU for it.

Thanks for the reply, I have a 500 PSU would that do good? I like that card you linked me, I might just check into it. One question though, would you suggest 2gig or 4gig to go along with it? I run a Win XP Pro 32Bit OS.

The Wattage of the PSU isn't what matters, it's what current it puts out on the +12V rails, if you look at the side of the PSU, you should see a table which says this, please have a look and tell me what it says, or, you could take a picture and upload it and link to it for me. Also, whilst you have the case open, have a look at the wires coming from the PSU, do any of them look anything like this:

or this:

2GB is fine for XP, I'm running 2GB and have no problems when playing games.

XP 32Bit only recognises upto 3.5GB. 2GB is plenty anyway.

Okay, so 2gig it is. I just checked my computer out I see the 6 holed plug from my PSU. Also, reading my PSU, I saw some 12V1 numbers. I could get the exact numbers if you want.

Okay, here's the numbers

AC 115V 10A 60Hz 230V 5A 50Hz
DC +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 -12V +5VSB
MAX 34A 40A 16A 17A .8A 2.5A

Don't know what that means, but it's all yours. I don't have a camera on me, so if you need any more information, let me know. On a side note, I've been looking at the 9600GSO. How good would that be, and would my PSU handle it?

What's the brand of the PSU? The 9800GT demolishes the 9600GSO.

Ok, I'm assuming that's just how it was formated in the table? so the +3.3V was directly above the 34A, the +5V above the 40A, the +12V1 above the 16A etc? And I agree with what Carbon said about the gfx card, the 9800GT is much better than the 9600GSO
