System
Dell Dimensions 4700
Specs http://www.webmadeeasy.net/ComputerD...nual/specs.htm
P4 2.8
RAM 4GB 533MHz

I am looking at the differeneces between the 9600 9800 GT Geforce cards. So far as i can tell they are both good, i thought id ask the experts if the 9800 is worth that extra $20, Also do MSI and BFG Tech make good products.

Thanks

Depends, if you game a lot then go for the 9800, it's higher than the 9600, otherwise why would they make it?

MSI aren't brilliant, not heard a lot on BFG but if you got a 9600 in that system, or a 9800, you'd be well bottlenecked by that power hungry pentium.

You wont be playing many games on a 2.8 P4, you'd get better performance out of a toaster..

Well 9600GT is really sweet , i loved that we card, i never did see a huge difference in 9600 & 9800 and the 1GB 9800GT is meant to be bad at using its 1GB memory, so i have read, but i didnt feel a problem with mines at the time i had it for short while.

You should look around and see if you like anything else before buying either 9600 or 800 ,maybe try for the 250GTS, about same price or very near it or HD4770 is up among those cards too. but really all within around the same performance ,forgetting about benchmarks, in game with AA& AF they will be the same.

Any of them on a P4 is going to be a tremendous waste.
