Hey guys,

I am new animator and we are doing a small film in Maya 2009. Iwe are using the following config

AMD Phenom 8450 X3 Tri-Core Processor
Gigabyte 780 G Chipset Motherboard (GA-MA78GM-S2H)
500 GB SATA HDD - Seagate2 GB,
Corsair DDR2 RAM @ 800 Mhz XMS2 (2 GB)
Enterage ATX Cabinet + 450 Watts
ATI radeon HD 3200 graphics (synchmaster) on board card

As i work on modelling it gives fatal error and logs out. I tried MAya 7 also but the same problem. We tried formating the pc, reinstalling maya, deleting history and temp files etc etc, nothing worked. In texturing the pc slows down.
In rigging it simply logs out of the software.

I checked the features of the on board graphic card on net and it seems my config is decent.

My comp guy suggested an ATI (asus) 3450 card to avoid it. Is an N-vidia card like ge 8500/8600 a better option trhan the above?
PLease suggest what basic card should i be using to wrk smoothly on my machine.

What version of windows are you using and what driver for the graphics card are you using and where did you get the driver from?
