The GTX will set you back nearly $500 were as the GT will only set you back just over $250
And it benches only a frame or two lower than the GTX
So in my eyes the GT is by far the better card!

No-ones asked the question: What resolution Cheesepuff?

1920x1200 - GTX

1680x1050 - GT

1280x1024/1440x900 - Neither, get a 320mb GTS/ 256mb 8600 GTS.

Granted, the GT is close to a GTX at the higher resolutions but that extra overhead will sure come in useful for those few extra frames a second.

GTX is overkill then.

GT is my opinion.

Pre-GT release I would have said 640mb GTS but you'd have to be mad now to go for that card.

Yup, read a few of those CP.

But as the market becomes more convoluted it's not just performance that comes into it but also price. Bang-for-buck takes on a whole new meaning.

Releasing this many cards also confuses the issue which is why people who are unsure about the technology need to educate themselves or be educated by people such as us on forums such as these or other sites that actively bench these components.

A gamer will need to decide not only on a budget (and stick to it) but what type of gamer they are. Are they like me and demand a minimum frame rate of 25/sec, mid AA and high AF (which lets face it is how the game is meant to look) or are they of the not so fussed about the little details variety?

The moral here folks is to ask, but more importantly, to read up on any card (or any component for that matter) so you have the clearest possible understanding of the technology at work so you can make an informed decision when it becomes time to open your wallet.
