...radeon x1400? I'm getting a new laptop and the best video card dell offers for it is the 256mb ati mobility radeon x1400. I'm wondering if that card would be good enough to play the Sims 2 Pets? and if you have any other suggestions on laptops my budget is about $1000.Thank you!

Well, it would depend on the other specifications of your laptop. Assuming you have the other requirements met, however, yes, an X1400 will be more than enough.Other specs you might want to watch are processor speed (the higher the better), and if you can get a dual-core processor, great. RAM is important as well - don't settle for less than 1GB, but 2GB is ideal for more resource-intensive games. One thing you can do is buy a laptop with any amount of RAM, and spend about $150 on 2 1GB sticks of RAM (easy to install yourself, or have a shop in town install for cheap).Hope this helps!

Yes but make sure you have at least 1GB Ram and if you have a dual core processor as well it will run superbly.Dell.com have an Inspiron 1501 laptop with those specs for under $800. (I just bought one for my daughter and the game runs far better than on my single processor desktop.)

Of course it will be. I'm running sims 2 pets on a laptop that has 128mb shared memory video card. And if you're still not sure just check out the memory requirements at http://www.thesims.com
