I apologize if this question has been answered, and I was unable to find where it was-

How much of the gfx specs stack when running SLi?

I currently have this setup (have yet to build it, waiting on mobo to arrive)

ASUS M2N32 SLi Deluxe AM2 Nvidia nforce 590 SLI mcp mobo
AMD Athlon 64x2 5600+ 2.8ghz windsor 89W cpu
Corsair 2x1gb xms2 ddr2 800
620w modular psu
Two nvidia GeForce 7600GS's, in SLi

I bought the vid cards cuz it was a 2 for 1 deal, and am wondering, in that system, how good they will be, because I barely understand SLi and what the effective specs are of the dual vid cards.

Thanks, and sorry again if this is posted somewhere and I missed it

Max is 40% improvement, from benchmarks I've seen.

7600GS isn't the greatest card ever..I'd dump them (both of them!) for a 8800GT or 8800GTS.

a bit harsh he just bought them!
you will see round about a 40%to 20% increase in some apps and games but next to nothing in others it depends on if the program uses sli

Ok. Yea thats kinda what I feared. But in the meantime, hopefully the dual 7600s will game decently. Good thing i only paid for one! Thanks for the input, and bein honest. I'm still pretty noob about building systems, so I'd rather hear brutal honesty so i can learn. So thanks again, and I'll look into the 8800's and see how soon i can afford one.
