hi, i'm currently looking at the possibility of buying another graphics card for my system that i built myself around 9 months ago , i built it in the mind that at some point i would want another card so i already have an SLI motherboard etc, my current graphics card is a Nvidia XFX 9600 GT XT Edition, and i am looking to get another one but i cannot find one online that is of a reasonable price or one that has not already sold out and been discontinued, so i was wondering does the card have to be identical to the other card running in sli or could i get a different edition of the 9600gt ? thanks for taking time to read this cheers luke

Most single cards will be superior in performance, have no SLi issues, and require less power. Sell the one you have, get a GTX 260 or 4870. There is really no reason to SLi two 9600GTs.

do you really need a second card? another 9600 xt is about 172. with the money you will get if you sell it and the price you would have paid, its already worth getting the 260.
