Hi

I recently had to do a full re-install of my OS (XP Pro). Problem is that when playing some online games the graphics just cannot keep up, and these are only low tech graphics.

My system has a RADION 9600 graphics card; I don't have a driver for it so maybe this is the issue, although the monitor is currently directed through this as it is the only outlet.

My laptop runs the same graphics fine, so I don't suspect the connection speed.

Thanks in advance.

It will be the drivers, you need to get the latest version for it. I'll take a look for a link to the drivers for you.

Download and install the display drivers here
That should get rid of your problem

Here, install the driver on this page and try the game again, see if it's better (it should be)

Thanks Chaps

Installed the ATI drivers but the graphics are still very jumpy. Well the grapics themselves are fine, but the 'flow' of the game is disrupted.

Anything else you could suggest?

Try turning down some of the graphics settings, see if that makes it any better.

Anything to do with the frame rate?

If its since a fresh install, the standard setting may be different to what you previously had.

Hey Guys.

Any tips on adjusting the frame rate and graphics settings appreciated. I've managed to establish the screen refesh rate is 60 hertz, but is this the same thing?

Yeah thats what I was on about.

Youshould be able to get to your graphics settings through Control Panel, or right clicking the desktop.

Though 60Hz should be fine..

Also, in games, go into the options menu, then Video options, try putting them to minimum and see if that makes it any difference.
