I'm having headache with my Palit HD4850. Everytime I try to upgrade my driver, be it from ATI or ASUS site to 32 bit Vista, the sceen goes blank on me and the computer went dead. Once restarted, the screen will have all the snowflakes (I dont know how to describe) and it will stay on until I uninstall the graphic drivers and disable my card. Why is this so? Do I have to do a BIOS flash or something like that?
This is my com specs: ASUS P5Q Pro Intel Core 2 quad 2.83GHz 4 GB DDR2 RAM Palit HD4850 Graphics Seagate 500 GB SATA Hope someone can really enlighten me cos I have been struggling for the past two days. Thks |

Any issues with games doing the same thing?
What's your PSU?

Hi
The driver that comes with the card is only for ME,2000 and XP. Initially it was ok for normal usage until I load up my Assassin's creed. After that all drivers were useless except for the one searched by Windows itself But of course that is just a standard VGA graphics driver so windows prompted me to install the driver meant for the card. Anyway my PSU is 500 watts. Thks |

What do you mean "useless" - what was wrong with Assassin's Creed and what other games worked normally? What is the model of your PSU (not the wattage).
Artifacts usually mean dead card or bad PSU.
