Can you say what laptops you are thinking about? As far as I am aware the graphics on a laptop are normally on the motherboard, so it would be impossible unless you transferred the MB to an identical laptop.

It may be possible, but you really shouldn't try it, unless you have a really really good reason.

I am thinking of taking the graphics card out of a Toshiba M40 and putting it into an ASUS F5R. Would that be possible??

Default Swapping Graphics Card??

Possible? yes, for a dedicated gpu.

Recommended? No. No way.

It's extremely doubtful the chassis of the laptop you want to fit the gpu to has the same....gaps....for want of a better word in its body for the heatpipe(s), heatsink. It'll also need to be able to vent the waste heat from the gpu? is the cooling solution powerful enough?

You could (extremely easily) cause the laptop to overheat and shutdown (or worse) should you even attempt this.

I highly recommend you don't do it.
