hi
ive recently reinstalled win xp on my pc and cant seem to identify my video driver. the pc has been custom built so i cant go to the manufacturers homepage.

any steps to finding out how to find and install the driver would be very much appreciated

Try the generic driver from nvidia first.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-uk

The above link will tell you what graphics card you have and tell you where to look.

Otherwise, open the case, see what motherboard you have and go to that website to download drivers.

i let it scan but it came up "The NVIDIA Smart Scan was unable to evaluate your system hardware. Please use Option 1 to manually find drivers for your NVIDIA products. return_status:fail
" i would open the case but it voids my grantee, is there no other way?

Why not just speak to the company that custom built it then, if it's under warranty they should sort the driver issue for free.

..... or if it's on board graphics, the driver should be on the motherboard disk.

If not, or it's a seperate card, grab a copy of Everest Home, this may identify it for you.

Download GPU-Z it should tell you your exact card

Hmmmmmm are you sure? I found that GPU-Z identified what drivers you had and then "picked" the card from there lol.
