| Ok, heres the thing. I've had my Radeon 9550 for a while. All of a sudden, It ****s up on me (see picture). I found out that if I uninstall my drivers for the card, it works, partially. Without the drivers (I've tried 3rd party drivers, same thing, different colors. See picture.) I have no DirectDraw acceleration (according to Halo :P) but non-fullscreen games will work (Toribash, you've never played it). Portal wont even pop up, It just minimized and vanishes. I know it isn't a virus or anything, because it happened on 2 separate hard drives. I think its hardware related, but is there someway to get DirectDraw, Direct3d, AGP "whatever the ****" (if needed to play games) working without the drivers, or fix the graphics card problem entirely? ![]() With third party drivers from Omegadrivers.net ![]() With Original drivers from a long time ago (when the problem first happend, same results though) ![]() Direct X Diagnose. Using version 9.0c Problem 2. Annoying ass message killing my wireless. It's from a long time ago, but every time I plug in my Nintendo Wifi Connector (with modified drivers to make it like a normal wireless USB AP), The message pops up, and it stops working. It originated from Avast!, which I DID NOT uninstall, but rather, lost. It was on a hard drive that crapped out on me. It was for additional storage. NOW the following message pops up (it was different, but I went in deleted some registry entries, bad idea.) : --------------------------- 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem --------------------------- C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDriv ers. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. --------------------------- Close Ignore --------------------------- It use to say something about avast!. It comes from the process smss.exe (windows critical). Any way to fix this? I already tried reinstalling the drives for the Wifi Connector, but this damn message ****ed me over. Note: These problems ARE NOT RELATED, just separate, yet equally annoying ones. I know there is one in the wrong section, but Its not vital. |

| I pretty much KNOW its hardware, If I restart the computer, (not turn it on) BIOS will be like that. What I'm asking is, is there someway to obtain DirectDraw acceleration WITHOUT the drivers. The drivers are what start (not started) the hardware issue. As soon as they load, it screws up. I get rid of them, and its fixed. So I did. In other words, the hardware is messed up, but whatever is damaged only activates when the drivers are loaded. I had to boot my computer in safe mode for 2 months before finding out the problem. |

It's only happening when the drivers are installed because the driver's are 'turning on' the feature resident in your gpu. New card time.
