Ugh, why is anyone suggesting a PSU and video card upgrade for an AGP machine? As Dave likes to say, it's "throwing good money after bad".

carbon , could you suggest a decent barebones system with a video card or even a decent machine or should i just build another comp all together. should i go with the pci express

The budget system here should be actually around $375, if you stick a 400CX in for the PSU (20% off) and a mATX motherboard.

I just can't imagine putting any more money into AGP unless you just needed something to drive a monitor. You'll also get a much more responsive system with a larger HDD.
