So you are saying that either the card or adapter is faulty, but even so why does the fan on the card still spin up?

Because it's getting power, doesn't mean it is outputting a signal.

Put the old card back in, if all is well it must be that the new card is faulty, it's that simple.

I have done that and all is well.But could my motherboard not be compatible with my card although it fits properly?
