Wanting to upgrade video from stock nVidia MX420 (AGP) to nVidia 8400GS (PCI) in my Dell 8250 to run dual monitors on one card. Computer will not boot with new card installed, show Dell logo screen but when that screen goes, acts as if no VGA is there. BIOS has video settings of AGP and AUTO, auto supposed to detect PCI 1st. Called nVidia, they said power supply not enough (250w) so I bought a Dynex 400w power supply and no change. Still no boot to new card but will to old one. If both installed and BIOS set to AGP, it will detect new card, ask for drivers etc. but gives error cannot start device. Am I stuck w/ the old video?

XP or Vista? Vista would explain the second phenomenon. Dynex isn't that great of a brand but it should run a 8400.
