Hi All,
I really need help, my girlfriends laptop is using the via/s3b unichrome pro igp graphics chip on her laptop and she is trying to play stronghold She has also had the same problem with other games. When she tries to run a application/ game it only displays part of the screen, for example, when she starts strong hold the application screen starts and only displays part of the image (1/3), and the rest iof the screen is black. I've looked on the net and can't find anything. Can any of you help. Thank you in advance. Kelvingraphics |

Generally laptops and games do not mix.

My sister has a similar issue with her laptop and the Sims 2. As far as I know it is because the games and the laptop resolution are not compatible. She just has to live with it. My System: Hybr!d

This isn't a fault. The screen is displaying the maximum resolution it can with the graphics chipset installed. To be frank, you're lucky it's playing at all. And Stronghold will test even a relatively new setup at a decent resolution when theres a lot of characters (battles) going on on the screen
No disrespect but Via unichrome is the lowest of the low when it comes to integrated graphics solutions. And integrated solutions themselves are only there, really, to allow video playback not gaming.

I doubt it the game is reliant on the gpu more than any other component.
What's the rest of the spec of the lappy?

the spec of the lapto is pritty good to be honest. Is there any way of upgrading the graphics chipset. Ithink Iknow the answer to this lol.

get a new laptop is the only thing you can do you cant upgrade it there are some extrenal ones but i think those are only to add moniter portsthings
