i have hooked my flat screen tv to my laptop via an s-video cable,what i want to do is have the screens show 2 different views.i.e. i wantplay poker on my laptop while my gf watches movies from my online feed...i use vista,and have plenty of ram and bandwidth any suggestions will be appreciated.

can you drag windows across from the tv to the laptop monitor? if so just drag windows media player on the laptop screen?

i,m srry i,m not being clear///what i,m trying to do is view one application on my laptop on the tv screen,but i want to view an entirely different application on my laptop...which is the source for both

i just clicked its a setting in display properties write click on desktop go to properties. and from there you can select witch screen you want to be the main one and so on. i ant used vista for a while so cant give you exact instructions on how .hope this helps

Vista = Right click desktop > Personalize > Display settings.

ok guys i appreciate all the answers,and i,ve dont the things you,ve suggested,but to no avail i still get the same thing on my laptop as i do on the monitor.or i can get the tv feed from thetv on my tv while i work on my computer,but i cant say look at this site on my laptop screen while looking at another site on my tv screen...i was told it takes like a t-9000 video card and i,m pretty certain my laptop cant handle that...if you have any other suggestions i,m all ears thanks for your support.

I don't think there's really a way to do this. The S-Video port on your laptop was not made for this purpose - do you have a VGA in port?
