hi i am thinking about getting a nice 24" 1080p monitor with my EMA money that ill get from sixth form :D. i have found a bloody good bargain on ebay for a 24" but it only has a vga connection and as i want to connect it to my xbox 360 that aint good. theres a vga adaptor for the xbox 360 but the 360 can only display 720p (ish) in vga mode. my question is is there an adaptor to convert hdmi to vga so i can use the full potential of the monitor, otherwise i will have to pay another £100 for the hdmi version.

Would this be the wrong place and time to ask what EMA money and sixth form are?

EMA is money payed from the goverment to children that are ether in college or sixth form (Top end of high school i think for you)

how much EMA you recive is decided by the total amount of house hold income that comes in to the household, it ranges from £10 a week upto £30 a week, this is meant to aid the student in any things he or she may need to buy, but it can be spent on what ever you want, some just put it all into a savings account, which Spencer sounds like he is going to do.

Good enough explination?

Why can't you just use a standard TV? (sorry if this topic is dead) but if you are getting "free government funds" why don't you spend it on something useful?

Because they're the exact same thing but the monitor has a higher resolution and is a third of the price?
