Hey, I overclocked my video card last week and after I did, I set my ATItool to start up and load my OC profile on startup. Now when I open a program that activates my VideoCard fan, the fan goes on for 2 seconds then turns off along with my monitor. After that i have to restart my computer. Any help? my system restore points also dont work for some reason, so i cant use that. when i restore my computer it turns on and says it failed.

i dunno how to explain why your system restore points don't work. but i can explain why your video card turns off along with your monitor. you realize that by overclocking, you're giving the card more voltage, right?

if you're using the same power supply that came with your computer, you've found your problem. your supply isn't strong enough to handle the load.

don't bother restoring your computer anymore because it won't help you anyway.

That or you overclocked it way too much and your monitor is going out because your card is shutting down.

System Restore is a software procedure. Overclocking is a hardware procedure, they will have no bearing on each other.

I know that system restore and OC have nothing together but im saying that so that people wont tell my to restore my computer.

Is there anyway to put my video card back to default. Whenever i turn on my ATItool the mess up happens

anyone with the brains to help you fix this problem will never tell you to restore your computer when this is clearly hardware related. uninstall ATI tool. then reinstall it and open it again. it can't make the mess again if you uninstall it because that erases any overclock settings you might have made and you get to start from scratch.
