high, i am building a new sistem and i want it to be able to play games like cod4 on its good settings, i dosent need to be the highest settings but good enough to allow the player to actually have fun while playing.

ok, these are the cards i am willing to buy

amd dual core atholon 2.6ghz
1GB ram +2GB ram (kingston)
MB ECS GF8200A (V1.0) AM2+ board
win xp pro
590 coolmaster case

None of them will run it very well.

Save for at least a 4830 if not a 4850.

Just read the back of the game case to find min and req specs of the game
and go from there for your parts

get a geforce 8600 or a 8800 gt it will run fine

It's not about "what can run it". A 8400GT can run it. It's about getting maximum performance for the price. A 8600GT is not maximum performance for the price.

he says he wants smooth gameplay. you can get an 8600 gt sub-100$ and it will have smooth gamplay at least on medium. theres no reason to spend more than 100 $ if he doesnt want to and it looks and play smoothly with the 8600 gt

The 8600GT is not and was never a good deal. As far as budget the 4670 beats it, as far as good price/performance the 4830 beats it.
