I Have a packard bell ixtreme its quite old so i wanna update the graphics card to use for gaming but i don't know which one i need for sure. i know i need a AGP type but i bought one of them the other day but it didn't really fit because the depth of the slot on the motherboard isnt big enough and the silver thing on the card sticks out too much i kind of jus want a cheap one under £30

Can you post a pic of your case? Sounds like you may need a half height card.

Ok so yeah, you need a standard(full) height AGP card.

Your options are limited as AGP cards are getting on a bit, I just wanted to confirm exacly what you need, someone who knows makes/models better than me can advise on which to buy better than I can.

Most of the time people who buy high-end AGP cards anymore are disappointed. Even the highest end, the 3850, tends to let down those who buy it. Your best bet is to build a budget system - this can be done for $500 or sometimes less. Buying a new AGP card is unlikely to boost performance significantly for the amount of money you'd spend on it.

hmmm maybe it aint such a good idea getting a AGP then maybe ill just save up for a better computer thanks 4 the advice anyway
