Default Whats better then a 7900gt for my budget?

Hi,

Ive had a Geforce 7900 GT 256mb card in my machine for a while now but have a bit of money so would like to go for a new one. I know quite i bit out computer but when it comes to graphic cards i dont.

I have around £70 to £90, can i get anything better then i already have. I was given the one i have so i dont know how much it currently sells for. I would like DX10 but ive seems some which look worse then my DX9.

I tend to play games such as bioshock, halflife etc at full 1280 x 1024 and my current card works with everything maxed. If im not going to get much more then what i have i wount bother.

Also my current cards fun its really noisy. I think its down to the fact tht the fan is really small. Its the loudest thing in my pc. I would like either a new silent one or quite one or a way of making my current one silent.

Thanks for all you help!

i wouldent recommend overclocking that gpu at all with out adding a more powerful fan or other cooling system you wouldent want heat to get any higher than stock temps it will shorten the life of the card greatly

have you got vista or xp cuz the 8600gt is pointless if you got xp really, you cant have the dx10 benefits, ive got the 8600gt, upgraded from 8600GS and the upgrade was unbelievable, i dont overclock so i can probly push this beast further but cant be bothered

The limiting factor apart from the cost is the size of the card as my current card only just fits in. I dont know how big it is but i saw a 8800 something and that was huge!
