yeah i can't find any good measurements at the moment but in that link you can see in the lower right corner of the page two of them on the board and they overlap the whole thing do you have two pci e slots if so you might be able to make one of them fit

yeah it looks like you'll be best of with the 8600 gt or gts due to size. if you have a second pci-e slot that might clear the hard disk bay you could get a 8800 the 8800's are alot longer than the others measured from the end of the pci contact

My budget doesnt really extend to 8800's, many xmas presents to buy lol. Like the idea of the 8600 but there seems to be a lot of variations. Seen this one

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132310

which is silent but id overclock it and change the fan etc. there seems to be differnt memory amounts, tht one has 512 and its GDDR 3 where as some are 2. Does tht look like a top 8600?

GPU Specifications Core Speed 675 MHz Stream Processors 32 Memory Specifications Video Memory 256MB Memory Type DDR2 Memory Speed 2000 MHz Memory Bus Width 128-bit thats the specs for a 8600 silent gts
GPU Specifications Core Speed 450 MHz Pixel Pipelines 24 Memory Specifications Video Memory 256MB Memory Type DDR Memory Speed 1300 MHz Memory Bus Width 256-bit and thats for your 7900gt

you'll get a huge boost without overclocking
