I just put the card in and boot to windows ,install the drivers ,card installed. Bios should pick up new hardware .Are you getting any kinda of beep code from post? 1 normal beep means all is ok and ready for action.

OS? what is a os? srry im not very good with computers. i think it got picked up but my computer ignored it or something. should i just take out the graphics card and put it in again?

oh it is a vista i figured how to disable the onboard card but now how do i make it read my graphics card.

i disabled my current onboard graphics. Then i restarted my computer, and now my computer graphics suck and i cant even play games anymore and it wont detect my video card. Also it wont even detect the onboard one

Actually you DO want to flash/update bios.
I bought the same card and had that famous problem also.
Just find out your motherboards manufacturer go to their website to download an bios update.

Worked for me.
