Hiya, I've pretty much set on the 2x1gb OCZ Reaper ram modules, the 1066mhz variety, although the 2x2gb is a mere £6 more?

I know my 32bit OS will only recognise 3gb (ish) of it, but for an extra £6 I'm thinking why not? Would running 2gb in each slot have any performance issues compared to running only 1gb in each slot?

My motherboard can handle it, just wondering if there is anything I should worry about using 2gb in a single slot as I've only usually stuck with 2x1gb

Go for the 4GB, really no reason not to IMO.

Don't see what the difference would be between 2x1GB sticks and 1x2GB. I currently got 4GB in my system running Windows Vista. Got all the setings turned on to full and I'm not even using 1Gig.

Having said that, as I indicated in another tread, when I'm running graphics applications like the Adobe packages I'm using, the memory usage goes right up the scale. I think the amount of memory in your system kind off depends on the applications you're using.

You might stick 4Gig of memory in there, wack a monitoring tool on your PC and find out that most of the time you're only using between 1 and 2Gig but your never kow when the extra juice might be usefull. For the extra £6 more you can't really go wrong there.

Cheers:
Chris.

Looks like i'm going to stick with 2x1gb after all.

It was from Aria, the 2gb kit cost £77 whereas the 4gb kit cos £82, although after scouting around the cheapest i've found is £46.99, from OCUK, and the cheapest 4gb is £81.66, from eclipse.
