With the new HD videos even and e8XXXseries trying to stream 5 or so videos will nearly max out the CPU
H.264 is the codec needed, you could try looking for that particular codec and downloading/updating it

I use a P4 3.2GHz, 1Gb DDR and an ATi X1650 pro. It doesn't lag in the slughtest on youtube HD.. It gets to about 30-40% usage average with a few other apps running in the background. Sounds like a nVidia driver issue maybe?
