Default AGP Aperture Size

Hiya

Ive just got this computer last wk and its running great , bar a few small probs.

Today i have noticed that my AGP Aperture size is set to 64mb

My card is a nVIDIA Geforce 6200 256MB AGP

I was just wondering if it is at all possible that i can change the aperture size to 128 or 256.

I just done today a bios update ,but i still see no setting for me to be able to configure this option.

I just manage to get the agp slot running at 8x ,as it was at 4x when i got the computer. I think the bios update fixed that ,but am still not making any progress in fixing the Aperture size.

There is no options in the bios to fix this and also no options in the nVIDIA control panel to adjust this .

Any tips or info on this matter will be greatly appreciated

ty in advance

Ozzie

Thanks for reply & link ,Krill

Indeed, am always told, if it aint broke, just leave it as it is.

Yep, the AAS setting is not so important , cos ive got enough memory to deal with most if not all the games and media i play.

But i would have thought for a 256 card , the AAS would atleast be set @ 128mb.

I used to own a comp not so much different from this one bar the cpu and card makers, and that card was a 128mb ati radeon, and if i were to set the AAS size to 64 with that one , i would get then get hardware lag , screen freezes etc and bad fps.

So now with this 256mb card and its set to 64mb, just seems abit low.

Is there any reason why its set so low for a 256 card and why i cannot change this setting in my bios or nVIDIA control panel.

Just by a few google requests on this info , i read that some people have theres set to 128 >256 for the same card and that it shouldnt be aby lower.

So this is why am rather confused as to why i cannot set this setting and why my comp will not let me set it.

ty for info anyways

kind regards

Ozzie
