This might be an extremely dumb question...but...I was wondering if someone could tell me what these types of processor mean???

Default Allendale, Wolfdale, Conroe, Kentsfield...huh?

They're just different "brands" of Core 2 processors.

Allendale are budget, Kentsfields are the quads, Conroe are the 65nm Core 2 Duos you usually see floating around today, and Wolfdale are the 45nm Shrink.

It's a quicker way to refer to each family, than "E8000 series" or "65nm Core 2 Duos".
