Hi folks

i'm looking to purchase a motherboard cpu bundle and i've narrowed it down to 2.

the problem is any review sites i look at have split opinions on the processor. here are the 2:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Socket 2.33GHz with Gigabyte GA G33M-DS2R iG33 Express DDR2 Motherboard

or

AMD AM2 6000+ Dual Core CPU with an Asus M2N-E SLI NF500 motherboard

any opinions would be welcomed.

Well I am a AMD fan myslef but you can't beat the cor2duo.
Intels is a much better choice right now for performance than AMD. So even though AMDs are not a bad CPU I would go for the Intel one.

Yeah, although the clock-speed may appear higher on the AMD you will get a better performance from the Intel. They also run cooler and use less power giving them a much better overclocking potential if you should so wish.

Have a look at this motherboard as well, its DDR3 compatable and might give you some future upgrade options later on. Its a few $s more but maybe worth it

Why would you go with the E6550? Get a 8400.

Is it worth the extra money? over here its about £30 more, which is around $60. How does the Slower FSB compare?
