Indeed they do, and they have to pay for it.

Remember many Businesses and other organisations just buy it and write it off against tax. Homes and students can get big discounts if you look around.

Thanx Dave, I am looking at it now. The only problem with buying off the internet is the lack of personal service should anything go wrong :(

Ebuyer are the biggest online seller going, I use them daily for business and make many returns for various reason and never run into problems. I would not worry about using them.

What 'stuff' do you need to transfer, what types of files? Word docs, photos, movies, music?

The most important thing that needs to be transferred is all my hubby's "Quicken" data, which is all our home financial information.

We do have photos and documents, but some can be deleted anyway, and others can be put onto CDs.

It would be more than my life's worth to lose my hubby's Quicken (have you heard of that?) data

The Acer model Dave linked to is definitely good value, but if you want to go for a High Street store and dont mind a little extra, check this Acer model out.

It's a better spec for the little extra money and should run a bit faster.

+1 phil, that is very good value, quad core, pretty 'cutting edge' for £369.

Plus it's from a high street shop if you are still concerned about buying online.

As for the data transfer a USB flash driver should do the trick well.
