Intel. Way better than AMD. AMD sucks!

intel because not only because i said so but it is more compatiable with windows and mac. Both are using it. If you go with AMD they have a history of creating some good chips but not as reliable because they over heat and intel have better warrenty on defective products.

Intel. "Intel Inside" means something. AMD behaves more like "A Mad Dog" on my machine.

As of the moment. Intel is beating AMD by a landslide. Intel's series, Core 2 Duo has the best performance out there and no AMD chip is able to match. Right now, there are even quad core chips although these are not genuinely quad core simply because it just contains 2 Dual cores placed together. So basically, you should get the Intel Core 2 Duo processor for all the tasks that you need.

I'd say.. please look at some reviews and decide.. for the above configuration, AMD would be better. For reviews, please visit www.pcworld.com or any PC magagine website. At first, AMD was behind Intel.. but now a days they are running head to head. So both are good and you should be concern with your budget.I hope you won't run a storm simulation on your PC, so you better go for the cheapest one as they really have a little difference in performance. Is there will be any big diference if one complete a Photoshop effect in 190 seconds and one in 193 seconds? Hope not. So please have any of the processor, High speed DDR3 RAM, Top Class Graphics Card, SATA-II HDD and you would be flying, whatever the Processor is.
