ahhhh this is the question that has been plaguing me for weeks now amd or intel?
amd have had the rep up until now .... the reviews i have read point toward the amd phenom even the new 3ghz quad being pants and that the intels dual dual core quad is better?
what are your views on this

The AMD quad core.. was a vast disappointment. I love AMD and always recommend it over Intel, just for price and overall performance, but it didn't benchmark the same as the Kentsfield
as for the rest I still would suggest a new AMD dual over a new Intel dual though

i agree but as far as i know amd have no intention to release a new quad in the nest 6 months or so. it looks like my only option is to buy an overpriced intel quad (2 dual cores duct taped together)

Is it not the case that since AMD cannot compete with Intel on performance, at the moment, that their only option was to cut prices?
