| Which of these [don't wanna soudn dumb] would actually be faster - given most apps don't use four cores would i better off with the x2 6400+ or the phenom 9600? |

intel are superior to amd at the moment have a look at the intel q6600 quad core My System: Cewy's wonder macine

| You are never better off with a quad-core unless you're using apps that use it (rendering, CAD). The Q6600 isn't bad, but I'd prefer a 8400 for overclockability, or one of the 45nm quads (Q6300, is it?). Also, Intel. :p
