Have a look at this. £59 for 2x1gb dimms of DDR2 6400 (800mhz), at decent timings of 4-4-4-12 at 2.2v (not bad).

That is a superb price.

Thats a bargain Alex.

Would they be compatable with my current Corsair XMS2 6400 2x1gb 800mhz 5-5-5-12 1.9v?

Cheers,

Keith.

I wouldn't recommend putting two separate makes of ram on a mobo. But they'll work. Although, you may get conflicts with the differing voltages, reducing stability.

You'll lose the timings though as the system will run all the dimms at the slowest dimm's timing.

Corsair xms2 CAS5 isn't much more though on Overclockers. I think it's about a tenner more.

Wow, nice price
I have to make the big jump to DDR2 sometime lol
When my rig can no longer play games on reasonable settings then I will go the C2D path I thinks

Carpious unless you are using Vista then having 4GB is not much use.
XP will not recognise 4GB and 2x1GB in dual channel will outperform 3GB+ anyway.
Edit:Sorry, nice find btw Alex.Memory is getting so cheap these days!
My Mobo(EVGA 680i) keeps frying high voltage memory though.I am on my third set of OCZ reapers(2.3V stock). This set is stable at 2.1 volts@1066 though so hopefully this doesnt fry aswell.
I have a continual RMA in the post so I always have one good set.One gets replaced another gets fried, and on and on it goes:D

Yep, its true, you will loose on timings. Your effective timing will be the slower of Dimms and I guess, you would never want to invest in a faster ram just to find out at a later time that you are still getting the older timings. Think over it.
