I want to build a PC with a Asus Maximus II Formula P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard to run with a BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB PCIe 2.0 graphics card and 750W FSU.

Can you please tell me a suitable processor to buy and memory without blowing the budget?

yes i can try to hlep you. first off, you dont need a 750 watt psu for these parts. what is your budget? and have you considered another video card since that one is not really worth the price.

Hi ilop

I all ready have the power supply and graphics card so I hope they can be used with this motherboard? (I got both on the cheap).

I would prefer to pick both processor and memory up for around £100 - £200 and perhaps upgrade at some later stage. I know you can get memory quiet cheap but I'm a bit lost when it comes to processors.

I run destop publishing programmes and do a bit of gaming.

Errrr an E8400 and some brand named RAM running at 800MHz should see you fine there. Not good on specific brands but don't get cheap stuff!

If you didn't get the motherboard already I'd skip it. You get basically nothing more over a UD3P or equiv P45 motherboard.

First off, what's the PSU model? If you got it "on the cheap" it may be not such a good idea to actually use it.

Second, I'd stick a E7300 in there. The graphics card is a little dated, so you're better off saving a bit of money on the CPU and saving for a new one down the line.

Ok so your saying the board is worth the price. I was also researching this board "Asus P5Q PRO P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard" as i had heard good things about it. Is it ok or do you have another suggestion.

The PSU link is here http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114801

It's not really worth the price unless you're paying super dirt cheap for it. Try http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145686.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150985 for the PSU, that one will blow up.
