ok what does you above post mean ? it is compatible with all the intel chipsets?

why are there different motherboards for different chipsets if it is inside the cpu?

ok sorry last post was actually very wrong out of frustration. the core two quad is the x38 chipset. the x38 express is what provides the front side bus speeds and all that stuff. Here is the overview of its benefits from intel http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/X38/index.htm

for question 3: The better the chipset used in the motherboard the better the motherboard can be. Chipset doesn't actually mean just one specific chip, it is a bunch of chips working together maybe thats the best way to explain it so "best chipset" on the market like in question 1 since it is the chipset used in making the frontside bus speeds of the best processors out there right now would be the x48 sorry for the miss-inform 2 posts up, I edited it out.

hey i never said you couldn't have an overkill for a motherboard :-p pick one with good other stuff and if you have that kinda money id say go for the x48
