Default Asus P5B Raid help

Hi everyone

This is the system I have recently put together:
ASUS PB5 Socket775 Mother board
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 processor
Kingston 2GB DDR2 Memory
2 x 500GB Western Digital SATA II hard drives
550W ATX PSU
ASUS Nvidia 7300GS Graphics card
New 19" Budget widesrceen TFT Monior

I'm having real problems trying to sort out the whole Jmicron RAID system.

I have one disc linked to the onboard raid socket internally and the over disc linked to the esata port. So both discs are recognized.

Everytime I boot the system it seems to take forever 'Detecting drives' after about a minute or two then the operating system starts to launch. However just before that I get a message in red saying the raid needs to be rebuilt.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Default Asus P5B Raid help

I know this sucks but I had a jmicron and the best way I found was that the bios was out of date and there was an upgrade. Flashing the bios helped me fix a lot of problems. But I am having problems installing vista on my similar rig while xp and ubuntu work like a charm go figure *except mine is a quad core q6600*

dice14u Thanks for your response, i'm not too sure how to flash the bios. It sounds it bit like the raid system is too much trouble.

My best option maybe to forget about the raid and just use imaging software like Norton ghost.
I don't really know.
